Piquant Barbecue Sauce This has an incredible number of ingredients, but once assembled is easy to prepare and tastes wonderful. 2 mild onions, chopped 2 tea spoon mustard Olive oil 4 tea spoon extra hot chili powder Green bell pepper, chopped 1 tea spoon cumin Beef tomatoes, chopped 1 tea spoon capers, chopped 1 tea spoon Allspice 1 Glass red wine 2 gloves garlic, chopped 2 tea spoon mild paprika Red bell pepper, chopped 2 tea spoon oregano 12oz Tomatoes, chopped 2 tea spoon olive paste (grind up your own green or black olives) Small can tomato puree 1 table spoon Soy sauce Black pepper 1 tea spoon ginger Sweat the onions and garlic in a saucepan with the olive oil, taking care not to brown (a pot with close fitting lid helps), add the sweet peppers cook a little longer, add the tomato, cook a little more, then chuck everything in and cook for another 45 minutes.
