Radio Jcom was formed by a group of community members with broadcasting, media communal and business backgrounds from a cross-section of the Leeds Jewish community.
Radio Jcom is one of the first dedicated Jewish Internet radio stations outside London and the very first wholly dedicated Jewish radio station in the UK, only one of a handful of such stations around the world, excluding Israel.
Serving approximately 10,000 people across North Leeds, and based at the Leeds Jewish MAZCC Community Centre, Radio Jcom broadcast as a focal point for all.
Initially, Radio Jcom launched an Internet-based radio station offering web site information and a full service programming schedule for the Leeds Jewish community focusing on Sunday live broadcasting and pre-recorded programming throughout the week except Shabbat. Now it broadcasts on 1386 am.
Radio Jcom is a 24-hour service, 6 days a week comprising of a wide range of programmes from music to sport to youth to news, encompassing every aspect of the Jewish community.
Radio Jcom is a totally non-profit organisation and any surplus funds will be reinvested in the station. Local business and communal organisations sponsor or advertise on air and on the web site.

There's a brand new look to Radio Jcom!
We've been on air on 1386 kHz AM (on medium wave) for over a year now and things are progressing well. Our computer systems and studio are working to bring you programmes 24 hours a day, 6 days a week.
Now, we are taking some bold steps.
Out with the old, and in with the new. Exciting, bright, multi-spectrum music mixed with first-class feature programmes now gives Radio Jcom an even better "community feel". We are at the heart of the Leeds Jewish Community, and more than this we play a big part in the wider community. Our programmes reflect this, and every week, we will bring out new features.
Listen to the voice of the community in programmes like Neighbourhood Policing;  Meet your Politician; Money Matters; Lesley Millet's interviews with a local personality; Negev Valley Tracks with John Fisher; Sandi's Den where Sandi Firth chats with friends; Andie Riley’s engaging Salt Beef Show; Ed Moss and the Surreal Hour, bringing his somewhat unique Adult-Orientated music and mayhem to the airwaves; J-Talk, Radio Jcom's round table discussion; and Howard Lee with his friends for 2 hours of the best music and "bolby"!
Radio Jcom wants you to come and join the team. We need more presentation and production people to help us make more programmes, more people behind the scenes to help with promoting the station, sell advertising, help with technical recording, broadcasting and computer systems. We need you! Contact us, bring us the talent and we'll give you training. No previous experience is needed.
